Attack Your
Procrastination
Just about
every person I know has had a battle with procrastination. You know,
just holding off, putting off what you need to get done hoping that the
problem will magically go away, the work will mysteriously get done by
itself, or maybe hoping someone else will do it for you. We've all been
there, and those of us that have become successful have learned to
attack procrastination at full charge. We feel when it's coming, we know
what it will do to us, and how it will make us feel. It can bring a
sense of fear, for some an overwhelming sense of anxiety, and for others
a spiral into a deep dark depression.
Procrastination causes so many
different reactions in people, and can not only hurt your business but
you as a person as well. Back in college I suffered from this a lot, I
would sit and worry, and build up this intense anxiety of fear of
failing at my task, that I would just keep putting it off until the last
possible moment. Finally, I'd do the project that I was supposed to, and
sweet relief would rush in, and the worries would disappear. I'd then
realize that if I would have only done what I was supposed to do, what I
had to do from the beginning, it would have saved me from a whole lot of
worrying.
If I would have spent just a fraction
of the time doing that work instead of procrastinating, I would have
saved a whole lot of time and suffering. This experience wasn't in vain.
It was an obstacle I had to face and overcome, and today I'm a more
successful person for it. When you overcome procrastination and the
problems it creates, you'll be surprised how much easier your life will
start to be for you. Attack your procrastination at full charge.
